Sunshine, rainbows and unicorns...oh my!

I'm taking a page out of my very dear friend's book, and am writing a second entry this week. I know what you are thinking...and you're welcome. 😊

This Friday marks the end of the second quarter for Brett. He took a ceramics class that I thought was going to be an epic fail. Brett is extremely tactile defensive, and this class involved touching wet clay...for nine weeks.  His first project was a Winnie the Pooh mug. I've been waiting so long for him to bring it home, I thought he was making it up, and there was no mug after all. Lo and behold, he came home today and made the grand presentation. He was so proud of himself (as he should be), but I was given strict instructions NOT to drink out of it. What?!?

Jordan's new aide started today. We lost Miss Kim in October when she took another position in the agency. She does have us on her caseload, so we have finally forgiven her! Just kidding. Not really.
E arrived this morning bright and early (9:30) which meant I had to release the Kraken at 8:30. If looks could kill...you know the rest. When we made up his picture schedule for the day, it included swimming and lunch at 5 Guys Burgers & Fries, his eyes lit up. He got ready so fast, practically grabbed his bag and ran out to her car. I'm still pretending that it didn't hurt my feelings. When they got home, he didn't even want to take off his coat and shoes, until she said "do you want to go swimming again tomorrow?" And his new BFF position has been filled.

I was surprised by my husband on Christmas with a plane ticket to California. Surprise, like, holy crap I get to go by myself?!? And oh my gosh, I only have 6 days to prepare?!? I had a wonderful week with all my family, relaxing, eating, sleeping, having adult conversations, and being the fun new friend to the little ones. It was awesome. We went wine tasting a couple times. Let me clarify. We tasted wine every day. We went to actual wineries twice. The first time it was with us "gal pals" as K so fondly called us, to a place called Wente. It has been over a week, and I still can't hear that name without picturing Brett saying 'twenty' in his Count Von Count voice. And speaking of the Count, our next winery was in a castle. Not. Even. Kidding.

Normally, I don't get overly excited for wine tasting, for a couple of reasons. First of all, I love sweet wine. Anything dry, with a lot of tannins hurts my face. Second, I live in Pennsylvania and our backwards state doesn't allow you to have alcohol shipped to your house. We have to go to special stores. But, the wise man pouring our wine in the dungeon told me about the loophole. Castello di Amorosa doesn't distribute their wine to stores or restaurants. You have to buy it there, you know, at the castle.

Yes, this one. I think you know where I'm going with this...I'm actually not sure who was more excited about this, me or my sister, as she kept punching me and yelling "oh my god, you found your  white whale!"  So, this happened today. I may have been waiting at my door. Or window. Or checking my email status to make sure it was on the truck.

Another wise man often says "half full, all good". I'll bet he thinks I don't pay attention...but I do.  Life is good. At least in this moment. And for now, that's enough.
